  1. I really wish big Navy and big DoD would actually work at the operator, deck plates level, when coming up with ideas and implementing big new directions. If you want to build value for decision makers based on analyzing data, you need to make sure the data is accurate and reliable. At the deck plate level there is a massive amount of friction between the work that needs to be done and the administrative burden of properly updating all data collection systems. Computers are slow, hard to come by, fraught with red tape and too many hoops to gain access, and accounts across software and official sites like to disable and delete your accounts when inactive for too long. Rolling out the best AI ever seen is useless if the data it is built on is poor quality.
